Colour circles
Wheels of Ink
Made from a variety of plant sources including Acorn Caps, Elderberries, Hawthorn, Alder Cones and Wood Ash.
The Ink circles evolved out of colour testing various plants inks. They have become pieces in themselves and still remain a useful way of colour testing particular colour combinations. Sometimes a single source is used such as Alder Cones then wood ash and Iron are added to create a range of tones and colours. They reveal the plants in the nearby landscape to be a rich source of colour and I have found a new awareness and appreciation of them through the doing of this work.
